Why do you need my license plate number?

What is a License Plate Number, and Why is it Important?

A license plate number (commonly referred to as your plate number) is the unique combination of letters and numbers assigned to your vehicle. It is essential for JustPark to match your car to your parking session.

Why Do I Need to Enter My License Plate Number?

  • To Verify Your Payment: Your license plate number helps parking attendants or automated systems confirm you’ve paid for your parking session.
  • To Avoid Parking Citations: If the plate number in your booking doesn’t match the vehicle you parked, you may receive a parking citation or fine.
  • For ANPR-Enabled Locations: Some parking lots use Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) systems to monitor vehicles. If your license plate isn’t correct, the system may not recognize your booking.

How to Enter Your License Plate Number Correctly

  • Double-Check Before You Confirm: Carefully review your plate number before finalizing your booking. Ensure it matches the number on your vehicle, including any hyphens or spaces.
    • Example: Enter "ABC-123" exactly as it appears on your license plate.
  • Mistakes Can’t Be Fixed After Parking Starts: For on-demand parking, once your session begins, you cannot update your license plate number. If the wrong plate number was entered, you will need to make a new booking for the correct license plate.

What Happens If I Enter the Wrong License Plate Number?

  • Before Parking Starts: You can update the license plate number via the JustPark app or website.
  • After Parking Starts: Changes cannot be made once the session is active. You will need to create a new booking with the correct plate number to avoid penalties.
Good to Know:
  • Double-check your license plate number before confirming your booking to avoid issues or extra charges.
